Number ranges
Digit settings control the range used for each operand. Separate controls are available where the two numbers play different roles, such as the minuend and subtrahend in subtraction or the dividend and divisor in division.
Addition and carrying
Addition sets can require carrying, avoid it, or allow either kind of question. The rule is checked column by column so the worksheet follows the selected setting instead of relying on a rough total-size estimate.
Subtraction and borrowing
Subtraction sets keep the result non-negative. Borrowing can be required, excluded, or left open. The generator compares corresponding digits to decide whether a question uses borrowing.
Multiplication factors
Multiplication uses two factors in the current version. Generated sets avoid times-one filler so the selected number ranges produce useful multiplication practice.
Exact division
Division questions have whole-number quotients and no remainder. The generator chooses a divisor and quotient, then calculates the dividend. It also avoids a number divided by itself when the selected ranges allow another valid question.
Answers and layout
Each question stores its expected answer when it is generated. A worksheet can show those answers inline, place them on a separate answer page, or leave them off the printable student copy. Horizontal and vertical layouts use the same underlying questions.
Grade labels
A grade label is a starting point, not a promise that every school teaches the same material at the same time. Check the number ranges and question format before assigning a worksheet.
